Report a Problem
If you think we have blocked an IP by mistake, please use the following form to report your problem. The Wordfence Security Team will review your submission and update the list as needed.
Important: This form is only for reporting IPs blocked by the Wordfence blacklist, not reporting other problems with our plugin or service.
Your report was sent successfully.
The Wordfence staff investigates reports of false positives, so it may take some time before your IP is unblocked, but there are some cases where you can regain access to the site you were visiting or identify the cause of the blocking. In cases where the IP is still actively attacking sites we are unlikely to take action on the report.
Possible reasons for false-positive blocking:
You are using a shared IP address that is also being used to attack WordPress sites. This can happen on shared networks or if your IP address falls into a range of IP addresses that have been blocked.
If you are using a VPN, try switching IPs or locations if your provider allows it, either by choosing from a menu, or disconnecting and reconnecting to the VPN. You can also try disconnecting from the VPN and visiting the site directly. As an alternative, use a proxy service in order to appear as someone with a different IP address.
You inherited a dynamic IP from someone who was attacking WordPress sites. It's possible that your IP address was used maliciously before your ISP assigned it to you.
This is fairly unlikely, but possible if your ISP switches your IP often. You can try rebooting your modem and router or contacting your ISP about acquiring a new IP address.
Your router or another device on your internal network has been compromised and is being used to attack WordPress sites. You may also have a virus or malware on your computer that is trying to attack other computers.
This can be hard to track down, especially if the router itself is compromised. Your ISP may be able to help determine if there is malicious traffic coming from your router. You can also update your antivirus software and run a scan to make sure that any devices on your network are not infected.
- The website you are visiting may be misconfigured. If you are the site owner, check if your site is having caching problems using the documentation here.
